The "Pure Incense from Mount Athos using the old traditional recipe" is the final product of a combination of frankincense, aroma, and magnesia, without any other admixtures. One of the oldest and most important uses of incense is its use in worship ceremonies, particularly in Church Services, where incense is a fundamental element of the ritual and worship.

The offering of incense by the faithful is also a command from God Himself, dating back to the Old Testament. Before the start of the incense offering, the priest blesses the incense and prays to God, as if this offering is a counter-offering on behalf of God, the “grace of the Holy Spirit.”

Every day during Vespers, the phrase “Let my prayer rise before you like incense” is chanted as the opening of the psalmody section of the service and is primarily associated with the priest's incense offering throughout the church, to the faithful and the icons.
