The present study by Panagiotis Grigorious focuses on the daily life of Greek soldiers during World War I, but mainly during the Asia Minor Campaign. Most of its material is original, as the author, in addition to the existing literature, conducted extensive research in various archives utilizing letters to and from the Front, memoirs and memories of soldiers from that era, as well as newspapers, primarily those that circulated on the front lines of the military conflicts.
Military history is not only about the great and decisive battles, the actions of well-known officers, politicians, and diplomats. It also relates to the small, the everyday, those experiences that fall between military confrontations and are often lost in the background of historical time.
