Angeliki Spyropoulou, Professor of the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Peloponnese, states in the Afterword of the edition: "This is a 'play within a play' and indeed 'theatre within theatre.' Even if only temporarily, the present and the past converse once more, the two selves, the then young actor and the now mature narrator of his story today, gifting in the end a moment of reconciliation, perhaps even a glimmer of hope for the recovery of lost dreams, after the catharsis of confession."
