This book was written to meet the teaching needs of the course "Applied Statistics" of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment at A.U.Th. It is structured in such a way as to have an applied orientation, avoiding theoretical proofs and referring the interested reader to specialized books and scientific articles.

Its use is suitable as a teaching aid in corresponding courses of other Departments or Faculties of universities in the country. Additionally, it can serve as a resource for any scientist facing issues related to the field of Applied Statistics.

Finally, the theoretical development of statistical methodologies is accompanied by a wealth of examples, primarily of forest biometrical variables, in order to minimize comprehension difficulties. The solutions to the examples are provided with an analytical description of the corresponding procedures using the IBM-SPSS statistical package and the R programming language, placing particular emphasis on the statistical interpretation and conclusions drawn from the results of each methodology.
