Description

Description

El Dorado Rum is an exceptional distillate of unparalleled quality and variety that has consistently won major international awards.

Its unique flavor is largely due to the tropical climate of Guyana, whose name means "the land of many waters," as well as the three centuries of rum production along the banks of the Demerara River.

El Dorado Rum is recognized as the top rum in the Caribbean, constantly winning significant awards in the past decade (top rum in the world for 4 consecutive years at the International Wine & Spirit Competition) and is considered a rum that possesses an interesting and complex character in its category.

Taste Characteristics

Color: Incredible deep amber color, shiny and dense, with juicy exotic fruits and spices with hints of honey and black sugar in its aromatic palette.

Finish: Round, dense and silky in texture, it delightfully covers the palate with its taste richness, warmth, fruits and spices. The finish is elegant and smoky.

Taste: Mocha, toffee, tobacco and dark spices. It leaves a velvety taste in the mouth, full of tropical fruits, coffee, leather and sweets.

The Liquid Gold of El Dorado

The El Dorado rums are renowned spirits from Demerara in Guyana and have been produced for over 300 years along the banks of the eponymous river. They are known for their unparalleled quality.

Demerara Distillers Ltd produces El Dorado using traditional old wooden stills combined with modern and incredible distillation techniques, creating these exceptional quality rums.

In fact, Demerara Distillers is currently the largest supplier of bulk Caribbean rum in Europe and North America.

One of the best rums you will find on the market!! Aged from 21 to 25 years in bourbon and cognac barrels. Also, El Dorado has a huge 300-year experience in rum and uses-combines many different distillation techniques, giving it a quite different-unique and authentic character compared to other brands. For its quality, the price is very fair compared to solera rums, which often have a lighter body and good marketing in their price without deserving it. Two versions have been released, the old one was slightly sweeter while the new one is more fruity, both equally good. Its taste is very rich-intense and dense, slightly sweet (natural sweetness) with notes of roasted tropical fruits & nuts, tobacco, dark chocolate, raisins, apricots, coffee, spices-pepper, and abundant character. I do not recommend it for beginners and moderately advanced, they may not appreciate it as much as they should, it is better to try the 15-year-old or the 12-year-old (for beginners). The aroma is very intense and memorable, I highly recommend it for connoisseurs!!
