    - It is not "heavy-duty." Only the metal is heavy-duty, not the design of the bracket itself.

    The reason it gets 4/5 stars is because of the product's "physics" and its advertising as "heavy-duty."

    A bracket that has no counter-support, like one shaped like an L, cannot be heavy-duty in any way by design. It is limited by physics: the farther a weight is from the wall, the greater the torque/force exerted on the bracket's screws, and of course the brick in the wall or the screws alone will hardly hold the 5 heavy books you put on the "heavy-duty bracket." That is why other shelves, and much thinner than this 5mm-thick metal, can hold much greater weights. In other words... the metal is heavy-duty, yes, but not the bracket.

    I simply said I'd try it out of curiosity, but I ended up having to add a third bracket with a 45° angle, because the two brackets alone couldn't hold up.
