Car battery jumper cables carry current up to 3000 A and are 4.5 m long. They are made of copper-coated aluminium wire and feature insulated handles on the crocodile clips.
To use them, both batteries must have the same nominal voltage. First, connect the red clamp to the positive terminal of the discharged battery, then to the positive terminal of the battery in the vehicle supplying power. Next, connect the black clamp to the negative terminal of the battery in the vehicle supplying power, and connect the other clamp to the chassis or engine of the stalled vehicle. Start the engine of the vehicle supplying power first, then start the engine of the stalled vehicle. Once the engine has started, remove the clamps in reverse order.
