Description & Specifications

In a brief but substantive manner, all lateral and posterior deviations of the spine, their diagnosis and management are presented. The general orthopedic will find everything needed for daily orthopedic practice, with a greater emphasis on monitoring and conservative treatment, while answers to questions encountered in cases of scoliosis in children are also included.

The texts are accompanied by bibliographic references and are enriched with images and radiographs, most of which are from the author's personal archive. The material begins with a brief historical overview, referencing the physiology of the spine, terminology, and epidemiology.

Subsequently, separate chapters examine idiopathic scoliosis, congenital scoliosis, deformities from neurofibromatosis, neuromuscular scoliosis, deformities related to hereditary metabolic disorders and dysplasias, adult scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis, and finally the various causes of secondary spinal deformities.

Georgios Kapetanos is an Emeritus Professor of Orthopedics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
