The Single Malt whisky of the Glenkinchie label, originating from Scotland, is produced by a single distillery and uses exclusively malted barley, yeast, and water as raw materials. This single malt spent 12 years maturing in oak barrels before being bottled.
Glenkinchie has delicate and refined characteristics with hints of spices, smoke, and vanilla. The nose is light but aromatic. Notes of fresh cereals, sweet barley, and nuts are followed by acacia honey. The fruity taste brings the fruits of Portuguese Madeira to mind. Notes of sweet compote, Calvados brandy, and beechwood follow. The medium-length finish is characterized by cereals and fresh greenery.
