This bulbous plant features green leaves and fragrant, garnet-purple flowers that appear in late winter and early spring, their blooming symbolizing rebirth.
During dormancy, we remove the bulbs and store them in a cool, dark place. We replant them in early winter at a depth of 10cm. It thrives in light, moderately moist, well-draining soils, in sunny or partially shaded locations.
It can be planted in flowerbeds and pots. It multiplies by dividing bulbs in the fall. It is not affected by diseases and can tolerate even very low temperatures. It grows to a height of 25cm.
