Description

Description

Etude du Rythme is an educational tool proposed by Georges Dandelot (1895-1975), a French composer, following the concept that rhythm is the foundation upon which melodies and harmonies are built. It is designed to progressively teach musicians how to handle complex rhythms, such as those used by Bartók or Ravel.

This volume is the first of five that compose a step-by-step method to learn and master rhythm in music. It covers the basics and simple melodies - the second volume introduces more complexity to the same concept, while the third will help pianists play different rhythms with each hand. Volumes four and five use complex combinations of rhythms and melodies with binary and ternary tempos.
