The Romed plaster bandage is used to immobilize fractures and following orthopedic surgeries or corrections. It reinforces the application of splints and casts. It consists of 17 threads of woven gauze and porous calcium sulfate plaster.
After immersion in water for 3–4 minutes, it develops a creamy texture and is easy to mold. The recommended water temperature is 20–25 °C. The cast is safe to transport after 30 minutes and dries completely within 12–24 hours.
