The Street of Takis Oikonomakis is the second collection by Stergios Dertsas. A poetic composition consisting of 33 individual poems. A journey into the endlessness of the Moment where the conventional concepts of past, present, and future converge and intersect, until they become disordered and ultimately compose a different perception of time.
With a simultaneous shock within the fleeting fractional time of life, and the individual episodes in an eternal process of osmosis. Spectral and real forms, icy shadows and feverish bodies, continuous monologues and fragmentary remnants, language (as a constantly gaping wound and as its most effective healing), everyday life (as a cry of anguish and as a psalmic reverberation), life (as a dark echo from the beyond and as the glimmer of eternity), contradiction (as a filtering of essence and as the distillation of meaning), are some of the collection's elements: interactions and transformations under the backdrop of a often metaphysical music.
Through a discourse that attempts to grapple with concepts such as Time, Faith, Love, and Death, putting to the test its own limits and confronting the inevitable crashes caused by the inescapable inability to fully dominate them.
