The bath does not attach to the base in any way, you just place it on top and it gives you the feeling that it is not very sturdy. Our baby is 6.5 months old, around 6.5 kilos, and it is ok for now. Surely, if they start to stand up, I will stop using the base. As for the quality, it seems ok for now, time will tell.
