Unique MGO Manuka honey from New Zealand, known as Leptospermum scoparium. The unique Manuka honey with antibacterial activity is widely recognized. The substance responsible for the antibacterial activity is Dietary Methylglyoxal, discovered by a research team led by Professor Thomas Henle, Dresden University (Germany). This discovery confirmed for the first time the direct responsibility of Dietary Methylglyoxal for the antibacterial action of Manuka honey.

The MGO Manuka honey is the only food in the world with significant levels of dietary Methylglyoxal, ranging from 20mg/kg to over 800mg/kg. Unlike all other honeys globally, it has been tested between 1 and 10 μg/kg.
