This dictionary is primarily aimed at supporting students in understanding the ancient Greek texts taught in Junior High School.

  1. Lexicon: It includes words that appear with relative frequency in the prose texts of the 5th and 4th centuries BC in the Attic dialect (the period studied at school).

  2. Focus: It does not include ancient Greek words that either survive in modern Greek or have been reintroduced through scholarly intervention and are fully understandable today, in order to limit the content to the essential vocabulary for Junior High School.

  3. Structure: It provides useful information in an accessible way (e.g., with different colors or symbols) regarding semantic, etymological, or other information.
