We are truly free only when we can love unconditionally. Being able to love without needing reciprocation is the greatest form of freedom.
Everything we do is actually a free choice. However, we deprive ourselves of the ability to choose freely either out of fear or because we are constrained by social and interpersonal conventions. In reality, no one else outside of us has ever been and will ever be responsible for our choices. No one, except ourselves. Our true freedom requires overcoming the internal and external obstacles that we ourselves place. Primarily though, as Robert Elias Najemy points out, we need to be honest with ourselves and determined to recognize and say "no" to the programming that limits us.
Najemy shares with us what freedom truly is, how emotions are born, and how we can use them positively for a freer and more independent personality. According to the author, freedom is when we accept our reality as it is in the present, when we can be ourselves in every kind of situation and moment of our lives.
