    ️ 5/5 and beyond!
second chance, found family, deep emotions, heart breaking.
If I could highlight 2 romance books that touched me this year, they would be "From Another World" and "Happy Place"!

I have said before that I deeply love Emily Henry's writing, and it honestly touches me in ways I didn't believe it could. Also, you know that for me, 5⭐️ books are those that make me go through all the emotions while reading. This book was no exception! The writing is magical, simple enough to relate to but also deep enough to feel everything you read. While reading it, I found myself laughing, crying, smiling, and daydreaming as I deeply identified with the protagonist and the characters. The most unique element, apart from the wonderful love story of Harriet and Wyn that breaks your heart, was the family of friends aka found family that existed in the book. And the fact that it unfolded in a small summer destination that made you nostalgic for summers, deep loves, and friendships over time.

Harriet is a specialized neurosurgeon with a difficult past but also a unique and wonderful family of friends who are there for her, and every year in Maine, their outings make up her happy place. An inseparable part of her heart and the group is her former fiancé, Wyn. They met in the group 10 years ago in college and since then had the most magical and deep love. Until a mistake and a dark place they found themselves in brought it to an end. In a final week of vacation at the cottage that is about to be sold, they will be forced to coexist with the whole group being unaware. And there, they will ultimately discover their own happy place, but the friendship of all will also be tested!

Deep, heartbreaking, romantic, summery! I highly recommend it!

Description & Specifications

Imagine your own Happy Place...

Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college; they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Only now – for reasons they still don't want to discuss – they are no longer together.

They broke up five months ago... and still haven't told their closest friends. That’s why they end up sharing the same room in a cabin in Maine, which has been their getaway spot for the group every year for the past decade. Their annual break from the world, where for one intense week of bliss they leave their everyday lives behind. They consume huge amounts of cheese, wine, and seafood. And they enjoy the salty sea breeze with the people who understand them best.

Only this year, Harriet and Wyn are telling outrageous lies, trying to ignore how desperately they still want each other. Because the cabin is for sale, and this week is the last they will all be together in this place. They can't bear to break their friends' hearts, so they will play their roles. Harriet will be the resident doctor who never starts fights, and Wyn the laid-back charmer who never shows his weaknesses.

The plan is flawless (if you look at it from a distance while wearing sunglasses smeared with sunscreen). After so many years of love, how hard can it be to pretend for a week that you're still in love... in front of those who know you better than anyone?
