The lights of this type are used in areas where safety lighting is necessary. Each lighting fixture must be permanently connected to the power supply voltage. During normal operation, the battery is charged and the lighting LEDs are on. In any interruption of the power supply voltage, the lighting fixture automatically switches to backup operation, turning on the lighting LEDs. When the power supply voltage returns, it goes back to normal operation.
