The MGR-11-S-AL paint thickness gauge is an essential tool for summer evaluation of used cars. It automatically detects the type of substrate, recognizing surfaces made of steel or aluminum. It features a large, easy-to-read, backlit display that remains active for 15 seconds. The gauge can monitor the measurement process with audible alerts for the thickness of layers and putty, with a speed of 3 measurements per second. It also includes a powerful LED flashlight for use in low-light conditions. The audible indication works as follows:

• A short beep indicates that the element has the original paint
• Two beeps indicate that it has been painted with a second layer of paint
• A long beep indicates that the element has undergone putty

The device has a measurement range from 0 to 1990 μm, with a measurement resolution of 10 μm. It features an 80 cm cable for the sensor and two operating modes (continuous measurement / HOLD mode). It is powered by 2 x 1.5V batteries, offering up to 100 hours of operation. The operating temperature ranges from -20°C to 40°C, and the machine automatically turns off after two minutes of inactivity. The device is CE certified and comes with calibration tables
