NEOSORB PGLA polyglactin sutures are indicated for holding in contact or/and convergence of soft tissues, in ophthalmic surgeries. Their use is not indicated for the tissues of the central cardiovascular and central nervous system.
After implantation, the synthetic absorbable surgical suture NEOSORB PGLA initially causes a mild inflammatory reaction of the tissue, followed by the gradual formation of a fibrous tissue capsule.
The NEOSORB PGLA suture is degraded by hydrolysis processes, where the copolymer breaks down into glycolic and lactic acid, with a gradual reduction in its strength and eventually is absorbed by the tissues.
The NEOSORB PGLA suture retains more than 50% of its strength after three weeks. The absorption of the suture is completed within 56-70 days.
