  • A classic and timeless cognac choice that you can enjoy either in a glass or in some... dessert! A Greek product with a long history behind it!

A value for money brandy!!! Misunderstood because due to its low price our mothers used to put it in desserts and it was the main drink at memorial services (not anymore unfortunately). Also, due to its price, it was and still is the favorite drink of alcoholics. In provincial cafes, I have seen old men drinking it neat. However, it is an excellent drink that surpasses many low-end whiskies and spirits. It "bites" due to its strong alcohol sensation (that's why we add ice) but leaves a relative aftertaste. And those who say it's undrinkable, they know nothing, they say nothing.

If you drink any Metaxa, any other drink will taste flavorless to you.
Metaxa is not made from wheat (whiskey-vodka), not made from herbs (gin), not made from sugarcane (rum), not made from agave (tequila).
Metaxa is made from a blend of aged wines from selected grape varieties, which are combined with exceptionally sweet muscat grapes from Lemnos and Samos, and then flavored with a secret blend of herbs.
The taste and aftertaste they leave you with are unbelievable.
Even the highest quality and most expensive whiskies pale in comparison.
They are even better than "good" French cognacs (Hennessy, Courvoisier).
Do you want something affordable with a strong flavor? Get the 3-star.
Do you want something with a gentle taste of fruits, flowers, vanilla? Choose the 5-star.
Do you want something like the 5-star, but with a more sophisticated flavor and a longer aftertaste? Try the 7-star.
Do you like the taste of coffee, smoky wood (not me), dried fruits? You're up for the 12-star.
Do you prefer very aged spirits? Try the private reserve, aged for 30 years and producing unique flavors.
Note: Personally, I dilute them with a little water and they bring out all their aromas. I don't like them with mixers or ice.

METAXA 5 is one of my favorite drinks, even though I am a whiskey drinker. The 3-star is in a league of its own when it comes to its price. It has a different taste from the 5, I would describe it as cooler, with a sense of alcohol, while it only has 33% alcohol. However, it is enjoyable to drink and offers good value for money.

The 5-star one is fine. This 3-star one is undrinkable. It doesn't even go well with desserts.
