Tasting characteristics: Kurayoshi is produced at the Matsui Shuzou distillery and is a blend of Japanese and Scottish whiskies. The water used is filtered with volcanic stone from the area. Matsui Shuzou was founded in 1910 and is located in Tottori Prefecture, northwest of Kyoto on the coast of Japan. The water in the area is known for its quality, hiding wonderful characteristics of Kurayoshi. Tottori is known for its soft mineral water and abundant nature, as over 14% of the total area of the prefecture is designated as a Natural Park.
