The YT-82531 desoldering braid is in the form of a copper tape and consists of many individual threads woven into a wick form. It is used to remove excess solder or clean traces from solder residues. Place the tape on the soldering field from which you want to remove the excess solder. Place the heated tip on the tape. The solder will begin to melt into the heated braid, thus removing the solder from the soldering pad. For best results, apply a little flux to the soldering pad before starting the process.
