Until about two-thirds of the book, the plot seemed somewhat uninteresting to me, but the ending was undeniably good, even if a bit abrupt. I missed being kept on edge from the beginning.

A nice book overall with a clever theme, there is no way you will figure out who and what until you reach the end, but I can't say I was as excited as most people, I definitely expected much more from this particular one based on what others had read. The writing style was also unremarkable. 4 stars for the twists and the cleverly developed theme. I will definitely read another book by the same author to have a better opinion.

Spoiler free, the book is excellent from all perspectives. Let's start externally: I liked the hard cover as it is elegant and more durable. The red pages make it look even more like a mystery book. As for the story, it is excellent and connects very well with an already existing work - book. The characters fit perfectly, complementing each other. As for the ending, it is surprising; even if you think you know what will happen, you are very wrong and left with your jaw on the floor. I highly recommend it and have to say these are the best 400 pages I have read
Spoiler free το βιβλίο ειναι εξερετηκο απο ολες της απόψεις ας ξεκινησω εξωτερικα μου αρεσε το σκληρό εξώφυλλο μιας και ειναι κομψο και πιο ανθεκτικό οι κόκκινες σελιδες το κανουν να φαίνεται ακόμα περισσότερο σαν ένα βιβλίο μυστήριου οσο για την ιστορια είναι εξερετικη και συνδέεται παρα πολυ καλα με ενα ήδη υπαρχον εργο - βιβλιο οι χαρακτήρες ταιριάζουν τελεια συμπληρώνοντας ο ενας τον άλλο οσο για το τελος είναι ανατρεπτικό ακόμα κι αν νομίζεις πως ξερεις τι θα συμβεί πεφτεις πολυ εξω και μενεις με το σαγόνι στο πάτωμα . Whatever I say is not enough for this book. Beginning, development, structure of the plot, the ending all in harmony. Not many details, just enough to understand the story. In the end, there is a twist in the plot, something I did not expect. If you like this kind of books, then you must read it!

The truth is that I had higher expectations from this particular book. Initially, the positive aspects are that it was very easy to read (I finished it in less than four days) and I really didn't expect that plot twist. However, I didn't like the style of the book almost at all, also apart from the twist at the end, there was nothing in the rest of the book that kept my interest.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι είχα μεγαλύτερες προσδοκίες απ'το συγκεκριμένο βιβλίο. Αρχικά τα θετικά στοιχεία είναι πως ήταν πολύ ευκολοδιάβαστο ( το διάβασα σε λιγότερο από τέσσερις μέρες) και όντως δεν περίμενα αυτήν την ανατροπή στην πλοκή. Όμως δεν μου άρεσε σχεδόν καθόλου το ύφος του βιβλίου, επίσης πέρα απ'την ανατροπή στο τέλος, δεν είχε τίποτα στο υπόλοιπο κομμάτι του βιβλίου που να μου κρατάει το ενδιαφέρον.

The truth is that I really liked the cover! Just like the title! It's the first book by the author that I've read. It doesn't tire me in general, it has good narration. In contrast to the plot and how it develops. Really, from a certain point on, I read it to have a complete picture. The ending is predictable, the twists weren't enough to keep me engaged. And in general, the plot is based on whether or not they will speak and when. And not on what they could say if and when they spoke!
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι μου άρεσε το εξώφυλλο πάρα πολύ! Όπως και ο τίτλος ! Είναι το πρώτο βιβλίο του συγγραφέα που διαβάζω. Δεν κουράζει σε γενικές γραμμές έχει καλή αφήγηση. Σε αντίθεση με την υπόθεση καθώς και την πλοκή όπως αναπτύσεται. Πραγματικά από ένα σημείο και πέρα το διάβασα για έχω ολοκληρωμένη εικόνα. Το τέλος προβλέψιμο, οι οποίες ανατροπές δεν ήταν αρκετές ώστε να με κρατήσουν.
Και σε γενικές γραμμές η υπόθεση βασίζεται στο αν θα μιλήσει ή όχι και πότε. Και όχι στο τι θα μπορούσε να πει εάν και οπότε μιλούσε!

An extremely digestible and fast-paced psychological thriller with a nice structure and suspense. Michaelides has studied screenplay, so the writing is quite cinematic. The twist at the end that thousands of readers around the world talk about, I admit that for me it was relatively evident from a small detail that was left at some point and I didn't want to have figured it out because I like to be surprised. However, in the end, I was right and it bothered me because it deprived me of the surprise. But surely many won't notice it, and if that happens, then the ending is a slap in the face for the reader because it truly doesn't let you think about it, the author. I won't give it 5 stars even though I would like to because I consider it not to be a masterpiece for my taste. However, it is obvious that it is worth reading and recommending because it is extremely digestible as I mentioned before and it reached the top of the New York Times, so so many readers know something. Therefore, it is obvious that it is worth considering if someone is thinking of getting it, but there is always the personal touch in the criticism that someone makes. Don't let others influence you because we are simple readers with different tastes and backgrounds. My next book is "The Maidens" by the same author and I can't wait.
Ενα εξαιρετικα ευπεπτο και γρηγορο ψυχολογικο θριλερ με ωραια δομη και σασπενς. Ο Michaelides εχει σπουδασει σεναριο οποτε η γραφη ειναι αρκετα κινηματογραφικη. Η ανατροπη στο τελος για την οποια μιλουν χιλιαδες αναγνωστες ανα τον κοσμο ομολογω πως για 'μενα ηταν σχετικα εκδηλη απο μια μικρη λεπτομερεια που αφησε σε καποιο σημειο και δεν ηθελα να εχω πεσει μεσα γιατι μου αρεσει να ξαφνιαζομαι. Ομως τελικα ειχα δικιο και αυτο με χαλασε γιατι μου στερησε το ξαφνιασμα. Αλλα σιγουρα πολλοι δεν θα το αντιληφθουν και αν συμβει αυτο τοτε το φιναλε ειναι χαστουκι για τον αναγνωστη γιατι πραγματικα δεν σε αφηνει να το σκεφτεις το φιναλε ο συγγραφεας. Δεν θα βαλω 5 αστερια αν και θα ηθελα γιατι θεωρω πως για τα δικα μου γουστα δεν ειναι κορυφη. Εννοειται ομως πως αξιζει να το διαβασεις και να το προτεινεις γιατι ειναι εξαιρετικα ευπεπτο οπως προειπα και βρεθηκε στην κορυφη των New York Times, κατι ξερουν τοσοι αναγνωστες. Εννοειται λοιπον πως αξιζει αν σκεφτεται καποιος να το παρει αλλα υπαρχει παντα και το προσωπικο προσημο στην οποια κριτικη που κανει καποιος. Μην σας επηρεαζουν γιατι ειμαστε απλοι αναγνωστες με διαφορετικα γουστα και καταβολες. Επομενο βιβλιο μου ειναι "Οι Κορες" του ιδιου συγγραφεα και ανυπομονω.

βασικα τα βιβλια οπως και οι ταινιες ειναι θεμα γουστου,εμενα μου αρεσε πολυ σαν πλοκη και μακαρι να το δουμε και μια καλογυρισμενη ταινια..εχει ενδιαφέρων

Έξυπνο βιβλίο, την "πατάει" και ο πιο έμπειρος αναγνώστης με την ανατροπή της πλοκής.
Η ποιότητα χαρτιού δεν είναι καλή. Ο συγγραφέας άγουρος αλλά πολλά υποσχόμενος.
Spoiler free, the book is excellent from all perspectives. Let's start externally: I liked the hard cover as it is elegant and more durable. The red pages make it look even more like a mystery book. As for the story, it is excellent and connects very well with an already existing work - book. The characters fit perfectly, complementing each other. As for the ending, it is surprising; even if you think you know what will happen, you are very wrong and left with your jaw on the floor. I highly recommend it and have to say these are the best 400 pages I have read
Spoiler free το βιβλίο ειναι εξερετηκο απο ολες της απόψεις ας ξεκινησω εξωτερικα μου αρεσε το σκληρό εξώφυλλο μιας και ειναι κομψο και πιο ανθεκτικό οι κόκκινες σελιδες το κανουν να φαίνεται ακόμα περισσότερο σαν ένα βιβλίο μυστήριου οσο για την ιστορια είναι εξερετικη και συνδέεται παρα πολυ καλα με ενα ήδη υπαρχον εργο - βιβλιο οι χαρακτήρες ταιριάζουν τελεια συμπληρώνοντας ο ενας τον άλλο οσο για το τελος είναι ανατρεπτικό ακόμα κι αν νομίζεις πως ξερεις τι θα συμβεί πεφτεις πολυ εξω και μενεις με το σαγόνι στο πάτωμα . Το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα και εχω να πω πως ειναι οι καλητερες 400 σελίδες που εχω διαβασει

Whatever I say is not enough for this book. Beginning, development, structure of the plot, the ending all in harmony. Not many details, just enough to understand the story. In the end, there is a twist in the plot, something I did not expect. If you like this kind of books, then you must read it!
Ότι και να πω είναι λίγο για αυτό το βιβλίο. Αρχή, εξέλιξη, δομή της υπόθεσης, το τέλος όλα σε αρμονία. Όχι πολλές λεπτομέρειες όσες χρειάζονται για να καταλάβεις την ιστορία. Στο τέλος υπάρχει ανατροπή στην πλοκή κάτι το οποίο δεν περίμενα. Αν σας αρέσουν τέτοιου είδους βιβλία τότε πρέπει να το διαβάσετε!

The truth is that I had higher expectations from this particular book. Initially, the positive aspects are that it was very easy to read (I finished it in less than four days) and I really didn't expect that plot twist. However, I didn't like the style of the book almost at all, also apart from the twist at the end, there was nothing in the rest of the book that kept my interest.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι είχα μεγαλύτερες προσδοκίες απ'το συγκεκριμένο βιβλίο. Αρχικά τα θετικά στοιχεία είναι πως ήταν πολύ ευκολοδιάβαστο ( το διάβασα σε λιγότερο από τέσσερις μέρες) και όντως δεν περίμενα αυτήν την ανατροπή στην πλοκή. Όμως δεν μου άρεσε σχεδόν καθόλου το ύφος του βιβλίου, επίσης πέρα απ'την ανατροπή στο τέλος, δεν είχε τίποτα στο υπόλοιπο κομμάτι του βιβλίου που να μου κρατάει το ενδιαφέρον.

The truth is that I really liked the cover! Just like the title! It's the first book by the author that I've read. It doesn't tire me in general, it has good narration. In contrast to the plot and how it develops. Really, from a certain point on, I read it to have a complete picture. The ending is predictable, the twists weren't enough to keep me engaged. And in general, the plot is based on whether or not they will speak and when. And not on what they could say if and when they spoke!
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι μου άρεσε το εξώφυλλο πάρα πολύ! Όπως και ο τίτλος ! Είναι το πρώτο βιβλίο του συγγραφέα που διαβάζω. Δεν κουράζει σε γενικές γραμμές έχει καλή αφήγηση. Σε αντίθεση με την υπόθεση καθώς και την πλοκή όπως αναπτύσεται. Πραγματικά από ένα σημείο και πέρα το διάβασα για έχω ολοκληρωμένη εικόνα. Το τέλος προβλέψιμο, οι οποίες ανατροπές δεν ήταν αρκετές ώστε να με κρατήσουν.
Και σε γενικές γραμμές η υπόθεση βασίζεται στο αν θα μιλήσει ή όχι και πότε. Και όχι στο τι θα μπορούσε να πει εάν και οπότε μιλούσε!

Θίγει πολλά ψυχολογικά ζητήματα με εξαιρετικό τρόπο, χτίζει διαρκώς αγωνία καθόλη την διάρκεια, πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα ιστορία που σε παροτρύνει να ψάχνεις την λύση του μυστηρίου, από τα καλύτερα ψυχολογικά θρίλερ που έχω διαβάσει.
The reason for the three stars is that it had a simple ending. It had a very nice flow but the ending was mediocre.

An extremely digestible and fast-paced psychological thriller with a nice structure and suspense. Michaelides has studied screenplay, so the writing is quite cinematic. The twist at the end that thousands of readers around the world talk about, I admit that for me it was relatively evident from a small detail that was left at some point and I didn't want to have figured it out because I like to be surprised. However, in the end, I was right and it bothered me because it deprived me of the surprise. But surely many won't notice it, and if that happens, then the ending is a slap in the face for the reader because it truly doesn't let you think about it, the author. I won't give it 5 stars even though I would like to because I consider it not to be a masterpiece for my taste. However, it is obvious that it is worth reading and recommending because it is extremely digestible as I mentioned before and it reached the top of the New York Times, so so many readers know something. Therefore, it is obvious that it is worth considering if someone is thinking of getting it, but there is always the personal touch in the criticism that someone makes. Don't let others influence you because we are simple readers with different tastes and backgrounds. My next book is "The Maidens" by the same author and I can't wait.
Ενα εξαιρετικα ευπεπτο και γρηγορο ψυχολογικο θριλερ με ωραια δομη και σασπενς. Ο Michaelides εχει σπουδασει σεναριο οποτε η γραφη ειναι αρκετα κινηματογραφικη. Η ανατροπη στο τελος για την οποια μιλουν χιλιαδες αναγνωστες ανα τον κοσμο ομολογω πως για 'μενα ηταν σχετικα εκδηλη απο μια μικρη λεπτομερεια που αφησε σε καποιο σημειο και δεν ηθελα να εχω πεσει μεσα γιατι μου αρεσει να ξαφνιαζομαι. Ομως τελικα ειχα δικιο και αυτο με χαλασε γιατι μου στερησε το ξαφνιασμα. Αλλα σιγουρα πολλοι δεν θα το αντιληφθουν και αν συμβει αυτο τοτε το φιναλε ειναι χαστουκι για τον αναγνωστη γιατι πραγματικα δεν σε αφηνει να το σκεφτεις το φιναλε ο συγγραφεας. Δεν θα βαλω 5 αστερια αν και θα ηθελα γιατι θεωρω πως για τα δικα μου γουστα δεν ειναι κορυφη. Εννοειται ομως πως αξιζει να το διαβασεις και να το προτεινεις γιατι ειναι εξαιρετικα ευπεπτο οπως προειπα και βρεθηκε στην κορυφη των New York Times, κατι ξερουν τοσοι αναγνωστες. Εννοειται λοιπον πως αξιζει αν σκεφτεται καποιος να το παρει αλλα υπαρχει παντα και το προσωπικο προσημο στην οποια κριτικη που κανει καποιος. Μην σας επηρεαζουν γιατι ειμαστε απλοι αναγνωστες με διαφορετικα γουστα και καταβολες. Επομενο βιβλιο μου ειναι "Οι Κορες" του ιδιου συγγραφεα και ανυπομονω.

It failed to surpass the level of mediocre, even though the story had elements that could have made it extremely interesting, but they were probably not worked on in the right way.

A nice book overall with a clever theme, there is no way you will figure out who and what until you reach the end, but I can't say I was as excited as most people, I definitely expected much more from this particular one based on what others had read. The writing style was also unremarkable. 4 stars for the twists and the cleverly developed theme. I will definitely read another book by the same author to have a better opinion.
Ενα ωραίο βιβλίο γενικά με έξυπνο θέμα,δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να καταλάβεις ποιος και τι μέχρι να φτάσεις στο τέλος αλλά δεν μπορώ να πω ότι ενθουσιάστηκα όπως οι περισσότεροι,σίγουρα περίμενα πολύ περισσότερα από το συγκεκριμένο βάση όσον είχαν διαβάσει . Ο τρόπος γραφής επίσης ήταν αδιάφορος. 4 αστέρια για τις ανατροπές και το έξυπνα αναπτυγμένο θέμα του. Θα διαβάσω σίγουρα πάλι βιβλίο του ίδιου συγγραφέα για να έχω καλύτερη άποψη.
Very interesting book. It is honestly easy to read and I never got bored for a moment. The book deserves more than 5 stars and definitely a chance from those who haven't read this story yet.
