I bought it not only for the beach, but also for festivals, where we often sit for hours on the grass, which can be damp. Very good quality, lightweight, small size so you can carry it everywhere. As for the beach, the little pegs are very helpful for securing it so it doesn't blow away in the wind. A small downside is the corners that form recesses and you need to be careful not to leave sand inside. It is also easy to wash, even in the washing machine, always with care (low temperature, no spin, like ski clothes).

Very good choice. Other reviews mention that the sand sticks and doesn't come off even with washing, but I did not come to such a conclusion. As soon as you shake it, everything comes off.

A simple synthetic cloth (thin tarp, roughly) that is okay for putting under towels on the sand and nothing special. It has a hole in the middle (like a buttonhole) for the umbrella pole to go through, but it would be better if it wasn't in the middle because the sun is rarely directly above the umbrella. At €10-12, it's a fair purchase that protects towels from any dirt and germs that the sand might have when the towel is placed directly on the sand. On pebbles, it's hard to secure because it slips.

I wonder about the positive reviews. The "mat" on the surface that touches the ground has a sticky substance on which all the sand sticks and it doesn't come off at all. Even if you use a hose, it will be difficult to remove. I can't understand the logic behind this. At first, I thought it was a defect with my product, but I see that others mention it too. The only good use for it is on pebbly beaches, if that. Avoid buying it because you'll regret your money. If it weren't for this problem, I would definitely give it 5*.

The worst thing I have ever bought. The sand sticks to the back surface of the mat and doesn't come off no matter what. I guess I'll have to spread it in the yard and wash it with a hose. I can't think of anything else... it only created problems for me. Also, it doesn't fit in the bag at all once you take it out, let alone with so much sand stuck on it. First of all, if you store this thing in your house, it will get dirty because the sand will fall off of it. It's a shame because I bought it with great joy, thinking it would help me compared to regular mats that tear easily.

Not suitable for the beach. The back side that touches the sand has a sticky texture, resulting in all the beach sand sticking to it and not coming off with a shake. To remove the sand, you have to put it in the sea and try to detach it with your hand. It is also not waterproof, equally annoying.
