The conclusions of the study pertain to both the dialects of mainland Greece and, to some extent, other dialects and varieties, as well as the modern Greek language.

The results of the search for loanwords from the Neo-Latin languages and from Latin in the linguistic idiom of Grammos, N. Kastoria, are presented in order to assess the influence of these languages on the corresponding Greek dialect. The loanwords originate from the following languages: Italian, Latin, Vlach, Venetian, French, Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese, and from dialects of regions in Italy, Spain, France, the Adriatic, and the Balkans.

Etymological hypotheses are presented, and an effort is made to show overall what the loanwords of the Idiom are. Additionally, words and etymological proposals that may not be found in dialect glossaries are also listed.

Presented are: the geographical distribution of loanwords in the Greek dialects; parallel forms; Latin-derived suffixes for proper names and place names; synonyms and other elements. The dynamism of the original word in the area of productive morphology-composition is displayed.

Christos A. Paparizos holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics, a master's in Linguistics - Teaching of Living Languages, and a degree from the Department of French Language at the Faculty of Philosophy of A.U.Th. As a researcher and later as a Consultant for the Pedagogical Institute (1997-2006), he introduced modern Language Teaching as a field of applied linguistics in Greek primary education and oversaw the design of the corresponding applications in the drafting of official language curricula and teaching material specifications. He has taught students from dialect-speaking areas of Central Macedonia. His research interests, alongside his native language, include Balkan linguistics, ethnolinguistic issues, as well as the consequences of unified economic areas, with the free movement of people and goods, on the languages of the region.
