The key feature of the lens is its new revolutionary design, which allows it to weigh just 745g.

New smaller and lighter HLA design

H SIGMA developed a new system that significantly reduces intensity while maintaining the same thrust of the HLA, which is characterized by high precision and silent operation in AF.

The new HLA motor provides sufficient thrust for fast movement of focusing elements, achieving approximately 25% reduction in thickness from the previous HLA design as well as a 44% reduction in overall weight.

Dust and splash resistant structure

In addition to a dust and splash-resistant structure, the front element of the lens features a water and oil-repellent coating, allowing photographers to shoot without worries even in harsh outdoor environments.

Lens Construction: 17 elements in 12 groups (4 aspherical elements)

Each piece of glass is made as thin as possible, while high refractive index glass and four aspherical lenses are used. The high level of production technology at SIGMA's unique manufacturing base provides the absolute precision required for processing these thin glass elements and makes this mass production possible. In the mechanical design phase, emphasis was placed on weight reduction. Through the systematic elimination of individual components, SIGMA achieved the distinction of producing the lightest lens in its category, weighing only 745 g / 26.3 oz.
