  • One of the best books I have read, very detailed description + information about things that almost no one knows exist and are true.. It is not science fiction.

Description & Specifications

Robert Langdon, a professor of symbology at Harvard, is in Paris for professional reasons when he receives a late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, and next to his body lies a riddle.

As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, try to decipher the strange enigmas, they are astonished to discover a series of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci. Things become even more complicated when Langdon uncovers something unexpected: The victim had ties to the Priory of Sion, a secret society whose members included, among others, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci.

In a desperate race through Paris and beyond, Langdon and Neveu find themselves facing an unknown powerful adversary who seems to anticipate their every move. If they cannot decipher the riddle, the documents of the Priory of Sion will be lost forever.

An exhilarating book that, from the very first page to its unpredictable ending, proves that Dan Brown is a master of storytelling.

Read an excerpt

He drew the blinds, undressed, and knelt in the middle of the room. He examined the cilice he had strapped to his thigh. All true followers of The Way wore it. It was a leather strap with metal spikes that cut into the flesh as a constant reminder of Christ’s passion. The pain also helped the faithful resist the desires of the flesh. Today, he had worn the cilice for more than the required two hours, but he knew that today was not an ordinary day. He grabbed the buckle and tightened it to the next notch, grimacing as the spikes dug deeper into his flesh. He slowly exhaled, savoring the purifying ritual of pain.
