This volume continues the collection of the prose works of Angelos Sikelianos, which until 1978 remained scattered in hundreds of rare or certainly inaccessible printed materials: pamphlets, magazines, newspapers.
The realization of this collection - as I have already emphasized in the three previous volumes - would perhaps be impossible by now, and certainly incomplete, without the timely bibliographic groundwork of the late G. K. Katsimbalis (1946 and 1952).
Personally, I am particularly indebted for the fourth volume to Mrs. Michaila Karabini-Iatrou, Zoe A. Nasioutsik, Anna Sikelianou, and Ritsa Fragou-Kikilia, as well as to Mr. Dimitris Daskalopoulos, Mano Eleftheriou, G. G. Katsimbalis, and Mano Charitatos, who willingly contributed printed, typed, and handwritten material to fill the bibliographic gaps of the Archive of Angelos Sikelianos and my private collection.
I received crucial assistance from my former student, and now lecturer at the University of Copenhagen, Dr. Sophia P. Skopetea, who, from 1971-72, completed the critical typing of 1087 pages from texts that had been accumulated in photographs, photocopies, clippings, or copies of pioneering publications.
