Large shoes like basketball sneakers, running shoes, or men's boots like Timberlands don't fit easily so that you can fit 4 pairs per section. For shoes like Vans (the classic low canvas ones), it's perfect, and indeed you can fit 4 per section—with such shoes you can store up to 16 pairs! On the downside, it's a rather lightweight construction, so even when fully assembled, when you open and close it or touch it, it moves slightly.
