The SRAM Red XG-1290 12-speed cassette is designed for extremely fast riding on the roads. The smallest cog of the component has just 10 teeth, expanding the rider's range of possibilities. The use of this cog is due to the innovative XDR system. In the case of the more mountainous range 10-33, five neighboring cogs differ by only one tooth, while for the 10-28 cassette there are up to 8 cogs. This ensures extremely fast gear changes, allowing the rider to quickly adapt to the terrain. A significant advantage of this model is the X-DOME technology, which makes the cassette lighter and the gear changes more precise. Components made with this system are also easier to clean from mud and exhibit excellent durability.

Technologies:
- XDR: Installing the cassette on the XDR system has many advantages. One benefit is that the last cog can have fewer than 11 teeth, meaning a greater range associated with the ease of achieving high speeds. The XDR standard features greater engagement than the XD (by 1.85 mm) and has been specifically developed for use on roads. However, the XDR freehub is also compatible with XD standard cassettes—only a 1.85 mm spacer is required.
- X-Range: The X-Range technology was created specifically for road use. It makes the bike faster—thanks to the wide range of the drivetrain system and quick gear changes, as well as a customized gear ratio through the AXS platform.
- X-Dome: A lightweight and highly engineered component—this is how the cassette bearing the X-Dome logo can be described. The equipment quickly cleans off mud and also ensures fast gear changes.
