  • This review is about the book: 2: The Owl

Much better than the Frozen Angel. You get a better picture of Mia (it also seems to me that it focuses more on her psyche rather than Holger's). The story is more cohesive compared to the first one and when you finish it you want to read the next one right away. Addictive (maybe I was also in a better reading mood compared to when I read the first one)

The frozen angel was very good. This one, not so much. It drags until page 401. From there on, it starts to say something until the final climax!

The story is good, it's just that the many details and slow narration make the reader bored.

  • This review is about the book: 2: The Owl

Another very powerful story that, however, unfolds slowly, lacks a particular plot, and intense action only happens at the end. It is the second book in the series featuring the head of the Homicide Division, Holger Munch. It is worth reading in order for the reader to have continuity in the life of the main character, as well as the other characters that appear in Samuel Bjork's books.

This review is about the book: Frozen Angel

Powerful crime novel from the first page. It is read without interruption and does not have any dull moments. I really liked its structure, its plot, and its twists! It is my first encounter with the leader of the Homicide Division, Holger Munch, who moves in a completely different trajectory as an inspector compared to his compatriot, Harry Hole, from Jo Nesbo. Highly recommended!

Description & Specifications

Researcher Mia Kruger has retreated to the idyllic Norwegian island of Hitra, determined to leave the police force as the Homicide Investigation Unit, which was effectively organized and led by Holger Munk, is disbanding. However, the visit from eleven-year-old Sofia to her retreat, asking her to discover what happened to her friend Jonathan, who vanished three years ago, rekindles Mia's interest in the unsolved case. She turns to the local police station and its only officer, Luka Eriksen, to learn more.

Meanwhile, strange things are happening on the island. On the wooden altar of the church, a donation from the wealthy Pritz family, the new priest finds three ravens hanging with their eyes gouged out, while suspicious ship movements are observed in the coastal area.

When a sixteen-year-old girl is found brutally murdered inside an old boat, with Jonathan's name written in blood on a cup beside her, Mia decides to call Holger Munk to work together again.
