Watercolour paints are water-based paints used for painting on paper. They come in the form of dry buttons, which, when wetted with water, produce ready-to-use colours almost immediately.

ASTRA watercolours consist of high-quality, finely ground pigments combined with a water-soluble binding material. In addition to pigments and binding agents, watercolours contain fillers that cause the colour to become dull as it dries. Thanks to this, by applying the paint more thickly, you can paint with techniques similar to gouache, and in larger dilutions, with techniques typical of watercolours.

Watercolours can be used in combination techniques with tempera paints, poster paints, and ASTRA crayons.
