If you want speakers for a small room for desktop use, meaning to listen while you are at your desk, movies, videos, music, buy them, they are fantastic. They are intended for that (UltraNearField). They are not for living rooms and large spaces.

They are powerful, crystal clear, and the bass goes quite low. I am neither a producer nor a musician and I was concerned about whether to get passive hi-fi or studio monitors. It is supposed that the monitors are flat and "honest" and whatever negative there is, it will show, so I was asking in forums if they are good for casual use.

I didn't have space on my desk for an A/B class amplifier, so my only option was Chinese D class which is a bit controversial in terms of sound quality. Some say they don't notice a difference from very expensive amplifiers and others say they upgraded and saw a night and day difference with the expensive ones. Who knows? I didn't want to get into the hassle of choosing separately, so I went for active to clear my mind and leave the choice to the professionals.

Watching reviews on YT, I saw producers and reviewers who have tried very expensive speakers, some of them have equipment to measure the response eliminating the room's acoustics (anechoic response) and they said that these are among the best speakers at this price. I trusted them and they were right.

Now, however, I hear how bad the acoustics in my room are :( I will make DIY panels and fix it. And even if you spend 10,000 euros, if the room doesn't have good acoustics, the sound will be terrible.

WARNING!!! Look carefully at the return policy. Stores are legally obligated to provide a return option within 14 days. Some do not want to and put a condition that you can only return them if the box has not been unsealed. Read it and also make a phone call to confirm it. And be careful not to scratch them or the box because they won't accept them.

Update: I bought a subwoofer and now the whole setup has simply taken off. I got the KRK 8.4 and I set the crossover to 90hz. The soundstage has grown a lot and the sound seems to fill the space as if it is coming from everywhere. Also, it "relaxes" the woofers of the speaker due to the crossover not sending bass to the satellites, so the woofer doesn't need to move a lot (smaller displacement).

Thus, it plays more clearly and helps a lot, especially when many instruments are playing simultaneously.

Now the whole system is much more complete. I didn't know how much a sub helps
