The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is truly an excellent processor for gaming, especially for those on AM4 who want to upgrade without changing platforms. Its gaming performance is very high thanks to the 3D V-Cache, and it works perfectly with a powerful graphics card. At the same time, its temperatures are completely manageable with a good air cooler.

For the money it costs, I believe it is one of the best upgrades someone can make on AM4. A truly “last dance” for the platform.

At around ~220 euros it's a one-way street for an upgrade and the last breath for AM4. At this price, excellent performance. Production stopped a few weeks later and the price has skyrocketed. Beware of inflated numbers, better to upgrade to AM5 from now on.

Its temperatures are fine and its performance in Games is the most value-for-money on the market.
Especially if you are coming from any "non-X3D" processor of the AM4 Socket, you can give new life to your system.

Note! If you do anything else (e.g. Video Editing) more than you play Games, then the X3D processors are not for you

The best choice for older motherboards out there, and with 200 euros and a graphics card like the 4060/4070 or Arc N580, it gives life to old machines that ended up being just browser machines

upgrade from ryzen 5 2600 to 5700x3d. The most value for money processor. Maybe the best am4 cpu for gaming with a 12500 benchmark score, it outperforms many processors. The L3 cache at 96 MB is ideal for gaming. I have it with an arctic freezer 36 argb and idle at 38 degrees.. max temperature in stress test 72

Excellent! I combined it with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 and Arctic MX-6.

In Cinebench 2024 with a 10min test, it reached 68C and 84.5w.
With undervolt -20 (PBO2) at 61.5C and 74.3w.
With undervolt -40 at 58.5C and 69.7w.

From 5600g the difference in fps is huge (4080 card).

Cyberpunk 2k, all high, path tracing, about 50% more fps in the tough spots (crowd density: high) and even more at 1%!

Imagine the 7800 and 9800x3d!! But I couldn't spend more.

* Be careful with the memory-motherboard combination. I had old 3200, 22CL memory with a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite and they worked fine with the X3D but when I upgraded to 3600, CL 16 the PC started rebooting.
From what I read afterwards, the X3Ds have such issues. It improved when I tweaked various volt values in the BIOS.

The second best choice after the 5800x3d for am4 platforms, with little attention, cannot support ram over 4000mhz without overclocking. Otherwise, after the old 2600x I had, it's like day and night. It allows the gpu rx5700xt to run faster than ever, bottleneck 0%

I transitioned from a 3600. Huge difference in everything I tried, especially in games. With a little undervolt, it runs at better temperatures and with better performance! The best processor for the end of the am4 platform!

The last hurrah of the AM4 platform. An ideal chip for those with older generation Ryzen processors who want to be covered for their gaming needs for a reasonable period. With the help of PBO2, you get 100% from the chip and with lower consumption (almost as much as the 6-core R5 3600).

Replaced a Ryzen 5 3600 after 5+ years and gave new life to the system. Especially in CPU intensive competitive games like CS2 & Valorant, it literally gives double FPS++ with an RTX 3070.
Excellent upgrade choice for those on AM4. Given that you can also sell the processor you currently have, you can for about ~200 euros move to the best chip on the platform and definitely gain a 3-year comfortable gaming experience with high-end graphics cards.

In terms of temperatures, it reached up to 75 degrees under full load with a room temperature of 20. By undervolting -30 all cores, it seems rock solid while the maximum temperature dropped by 10! degrees in conjunction with a Hyper 212 Black Edition.

Simply flawless. I mainly play CS2 and PUBG, and specifically for CS, more on Faceit, which is known to slightly "heavier" the CPU usage. My previous processor was the Ryzen 5 2600, a good processor... five years ago. I will speak with numbers. CS2 deathmatch: (R5 2600) 60-100 fps -> (R7 5700X3D) 200-300 fps. Faceit 5v5: (2600) 100-140. (5700X3D) 250-350. At the same time, I use the MSI GTX 1660 Ti 6GB and 16GB RAM overclocked to 2933MHz. Finally, the final price was €222.

Coming from a 5600x for CPU-demanding games, it's a one-way street, especially when the GPU is running low due to load. Temperatures with a Thermalright 14mm -20 offset are 50-65°C. Very stable fps, so everything is exceptionally smooth without the slightest stuttering. It's worth it by far, and at first, I was hesitant because I play at 1440p; however, the difference is immediately noticeable.

Awesome! Together with an MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio at 2k resolution that I play, it is unstoppable! The card is pushed to 100% and over 40% CPU usage, I haven't seen that yet!

Since I don't play FPS games, in the ones I do play (one is World of Warships) with max quality setup in the nVidia control panel as well as in the settings of each game, it gives me crazy FPS (in WoWs it gives about 160FPS, see photos) Personally, I consider it excellent value for money and a gem from AMD!

Incredible VFM. It is now the ceiling for the epic AM4 socket, which lasted 7 years.
The best upgrade if you have anything below the 5600X.

You have no reason to go for AM5. It has such good performance in games that when you need something stronger, AM6 and DDR6 will be out.

I just need to mention that I sold the 5950x and bought this one. Perhaps the best price/performance processor of all time in purely gaming scenarios. Obviously, it doesn't perform particularly well in productivity, but I guess no one would buy it for productivity.
