The philosophy of the CUES series is based on thicker gear teeth and the different angles at which the chain operates, thus allowing smooth shifting from one gear to another, without noises, inaccuracies, or the risk of the chain breaking when shifting under high-force loads.
The SHIMANO CUES series is compatible with almost all mid-range and above bikes, even with most older aluminum bikes.
For the transmission to function, replacement of the entire old and worn series is required, as the chain and gear standards cannot be combined with different series technologies that are not Link Glide.
