WAKOUCHA: BLACK TEA FROM JAPAN
The flavor of this black leaf tea is truly exquisite, slightly floral, with remarkable notes of honey and spices. The term "kou-cha" 紅茶 can be translated as "a tea with a crimson color". This name was coined due to the soft Japanese water, which would turn a dark red with a hint of blue when infused with black tea leaves. Therefore, in the past, wakoucha was referred to as "red tea". When brewed in medium-hard water, more characteristic of European countries, the tea takes on a dark amber color. Moya Wakoucha is grown and processed in the Mie region on Honshu Island.
