The development of fast-moving reliable tanks sparked many ideas on how to slow them down or destroy them. Large shaped concrete boulders, reinforced with steel bases, often called "Dragon's Teeth," provided a good solution to block the progress of vehicles. Additionally, infantry had to stop or divert elsewhere, resulting in engineers from all sides busy constructing wooden and steel structures that supported long rolls of tight wire mesh, strong enough to keep everyone but the most determined men away.
