The Yuasa NP38-12 12V 38Ah battery is of AGM type and is suitable for deep discharge of a significant portion of its capacity. It is fully rechargeable and designed for long-term durability.
AGM VRLA batteries are not designed for engine starting or for prolonged high current draws.
Rechargeable VRLA batteries are used for energy storage for everyday use. They can be discharged from 45% to 75% of their capacity. The ability for deep discharge is due to the thick lead plates which resist corrosion. Due to the completely sealed construction and recombination of gases within the cells, the battery requires almost no maintenance and can be installed in any position (except for continuous use with the battery upside down).
VRLA batteries are versatile and suitable for cyclic or standby applications. They are ideal for UPS, alarm systems, telephone exchanges, telecommunications, and many other industrial applications.

The electrolyte is retained in the separator material, so no electrolyte escapes from the cells.
