Chateau d'Issan is one of the most historic estates in Bordeaux. The fame of this Estate precedes the 1855 classification, where it was classified as one of the 14 Troisiemes Crus of Bordeaux. As early as the 12th century, wine from the Chateau was served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II of England. Since 1575, the Chateau has been in the hands of five generations of the Essenault family, who eventually renamed it to Chateau d'Issan. After the end of World War II, the Chateau came into the hands of the Cruse family, who restored the facilities and replanted the vineyard.
Today, the Cruse family has joined forces with Francoise and Jacky Lorenzetti, resulting in Chateau regaining the glory, prestige, and quality of the past. It is a unique Margaux that stands out with its impressive label, finesse, and elegance.
