The great toy store of Tsokas at Aiolou 82-86 (unique in its kind in old Athens) was my paradise, the place I loved to wander around admiring the countless toys that were not only in the showcases and shelves but even hanging from the ceiling. All of this took on exciting dimensions in my childhood imagination.

The years went by. Tsokas, the festive stalls of Aiolou, and Roditis have become the past. A distant, unfortunately, past. But the memories remained alive, and I always intended to revive old Aiolou by writing about it. Thus, I began to gather memories, elements, and any other related material I encountered about Aiolou. But, as often happens to me, this effort rolled on at a slow pace, as meanwhile some other urgent work emerged. So, the material was being collected to be stored (and almost forgotten) on some shelf in my library…”
