I don't feel that it protects the phone in a fall. It is very thin and hard, it doesn't have a silicone feel (I would say more like flexible plastic). The cheaper one I have is much softer and you feel the protection more. It slips incredibly in the hand and has a creepy texture on the back. Money wasted, I put it on and took it off again.
