Vitamin A, also known as Retinol, is a fat-soluble vitamin. Its primary role involves vision, as it participates in the formation of rhodopsin (visual purple).

Vitamin A also plays a significant role in cellular differentiation and is therefore essential for the formation of new cells. It contributes to the maintenance of the health and cohesion of the skin and mucous membranes, helping to prevent infections of the nose, larynx, lungs, urinary system, etc.

Vitamin A also contributes to the development of the embryo and bones, appetite, taste, hearing, growth, and sperm production.
