Description

The Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8L IS USM Z lens is the bridge that connects the worlds of broadcasting, cinema, and photography. A groundbreaking lens for the era of hybrid photography, offering filmmakers and photographers the best image quality and performance. With a constant f/2.8 aperture for stunning bokeh effect, it sets new standards for all content creators.

  • A professional 24-105mm zoom lens for video and still photography.
  • Fast f/2.8 aperture for excellent depth of field control.
  • Cinematic capabilities for cinema-quality films.

Capture high-quality photos and videos at all events throughout the day, even in low light conditions. The 11-blade aperture provides impressive out-of-focus highlights, as well as incredible sharpness and color accuracy.

With a constant f/2.8 from 24mm to 105mm, the zoom covers every need. The 24-105mm focal length and the 5.5-stop Optical Image Stabilizer set new standards in video and still image shooting.

The four UD elements correct chromatic aberration, while three aspherical lenses neutralize spherical aberrations. The ASC and Super Spectra coatings reduce ghosting and flare, while the fluorine coating protects the lens surface from dirt.

The fast autofocus allows for professional electronic parfocal performance as you zoom, preventing the change of the angle of view when changing the focal length.

Get close to your subject and focus up to 0.45m for close-up shots that fill the frame. Customizable function buttons and control ring provide additional control options.

I had the 24-70 2.8 RF. I switched to this one since I decided to stop shooting with two bodies. On the second camera, I had an 85mm. Regarding the weight: It doesn't show! Even though it is heavier than the 24-70, so far it gives me the impression that it is better balanced. Not to mention that it has a better grip than the 24-70, where the weight is concentrated because it is shorter in length. In terms of focus, it is quite fast. And in terms of sharpness, it is about on the same level as the 24-70. These are the positives. On the negatives: The lens ring, which you can set up to change ISO (for example), on this lens is positioned much further forward. So, to reach it, you have to let go of the lens and move your hand. On the 24-70, you can do it without moving your hand since it is shorter. The biggest negative I have encountered so far is that you cannot completely remove the tripod collar. This makes it very uncomfortable. If it could be removed completely, it would be MUCH BETTER ergonomically. I really don't know what they were thinking at Canon. For this reason, I give it 4 stars.
