Description

What is it?

It is a polysaccharide, known as glycosaminoglycan (GAG), which is a natural structural component of the human body. This molecule is a fundamental building block in the composition of the dermis of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is produced by fibroblasts, surrounds the cells of the epidermis, and is present in all connective tissues and joints. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases, resulting in the loss of its youthful appearance, firmness, dehydration, and the appearance of wrinkles. By the age of 45, the body's hyaluronic acid content has decreased by half.

How does it help?

Its hydrophilic nature makes it capable of retaining moisture within the skin and can absorb up to 1,000 times its weight, thus giving the skin a smooth, elastic, hydrated, and beautiful appearance. Beyond deep skin hydration, hyaluronic acid also plays a significant role in its regeneration/healing, maintaining a healthy appearance of the epidermis.

How is it used?

  • Skin cleansing cosmetics: 0.05-0.3%
  • Skin care cosmetics: 0.05-0.5% (in lotions up to 0.3%)
  • Skin nourishment cosmetics
    • Beauty/radiance: 0.05-0.3%
    • Anti-aging: 0.05-0.5%
    • Intense hydration: 0.1-1%
  • Sunscreens: 0.05-0.5%

Important:

The contribution of a restful sleep to skin regeneration and youthfulness is significant. Tissue rebuilding occurs during level 3 of the REM phase, when the body converts available collagen and other nutrients into new tissues. The synthesis of new collagen by skin fibroblasts usually takes place during nighttime sleep, from about 1:00 am to 4:00 am.
