It is made of beech wood and has a protective oil finish. Hand-wash only with a slightly damp cloth or brush; do not immerse it in water or leave it in damp conditions for extended periods. It should be oiled regularly with food-safe oil, as well as before first use. If dry spots or cracks appear, apply more oil.
