Description

Carl Jung - along with Sigmund Freud and Alfred Adler - is one of the most popular representatives of Depth Psychology. His ideas about the Collective Unconscious and the Archetypes that exist within it are fundamental elements for understanding the anatomy and functions of the soul.

This is why the present research attempts to approach these essential and simultaneously enigmatic concepts of Analytical Psychology in various ways. When talking about Archetypes, we refer to primordial patterns of behavior that are completely autonomous and foreign to consciousness. According to Jung's early references, Archetypes gradually formed from the shared human experience of thousands of generations, thus structuring the web of the Collective Unconscious, which serves as the foundation of each person's individual psychology, while manifesting in both direct ways (as psychic demands) and indirect ways (as symbols) in the individual's daily life.

Throughout the clinical research of the Swiss psychiatrist, his perception of archetypes significantly expanded, creating numerous questions regarding their ontogenesis and their connection to the ultimate existential purpose of humanity. In this book, among other things, the structure of the soul, the relationship of the conscious with the unconscious, and the decisive role of complexes in the psychological life of the individual are examined.

Additionally, the relationship of Archetypes with instincts, the morphology of the Collective Unconscious, and the course of individuation, which is the innate inclination towards continuous psychic transformations aimed at the emergence of the deeper and truer Self, are analyzed.

When was the concept of Archetypes discovered? How do they influence human consciousness and in what ways do they manifest? How are they connected to the ultimate existential purpose of humanity?
