The jug itself is glass and specifically borosilicate which is considered one of the safest/healthiest and toughest. It is made by Schott, one of the leaders in cooking surfaces, which is also a plus. However, the inner part where the water is added and the filter is attached, it is not glass. Minus and a bit misleading in my opinion.
