The Extralink EX.3296 media converter converts transmission between copper FTP/UTP cables and an SFP optical fiber transceiver. It combines one 1000M SFP port with one 1000M RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port and can extend an Ethernet network over optical fiber up to 80 km, depending on the SFP module used.
It supports conversion from 100Base-TX/FX or 1000Base-T to 1000BASE-SX/LX, Jumbo Frames of 64–9216 bytes, and automatic Half/Full Duplex negotiation on the Ethernet port. Diagnostic LEDs on the front panel indicate the device status, while Plug-and-Play operation makes it easy to use.
